Public inquiry result is out!

Feniton planning inquiry result has just been announced. Acland Park has been allowed for 32 houses, as suspected, but the other two major sites have been dismissed.

Many congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to get this storming result.

Haven’t had a chance to digest the 40-page report, but will be blogging with a summary of the decision shortly.

Woohoo!! Brilliant result – well done Susie!!

  2. Fantastic news. We had a Planning Inspector who saw sense. Well done and thank you to Susie, Feniton Parish Council, Fight for Feniton and the community of Feniton who came together and fought.

  3. Gill Ewings says:

Hooray Susie What fantastic news, absolutely thrilled for everyone who put in so much hard work to fight this . Gill x

  4. Val Jones says:

Fantastic news. Thanks to everyone who fought so hard – it was a David and Goliath effort but the Inspector judged the situation for herself.

  5. Brian. W. Smith says:

What a blessed relief. Well done to all those who got off their bums and went to the Exeter inquiry. Is this decision final. Or can the developers legal eagles go direct to the housing minister to try and get it overturned.. This we need to know before we light the fireworks.

  6. Mark Chesterfield says:

Dear Susie; Thanks for your blog with the good news about the inquiry. Your good work in keeping us all informed is very much appreciated in this household and I am sure in many others as well. Thank you very much from my wife and I for all your hard work. Mark and Betty Chesterfield

  7. Tim T says:

Well there is a result that would never have seemed likely a little over a year ago before Susie showed what a councillor should be doing for the electorate. Well done FFF, Susie and all involved.

  8. Chris Wilkins says:

Following the 2 successful Protest Marches, I believe a Victory March will be in order….perhaps with a tipple at the end

  9. Jenny says:

WOW! What a relief! Thank you everyone and especially Susie for all the hard work.
So, how about a village party to celebrate?

I’m off to pour myself a glass of ginger wine to celebrate.

It’s great news, Jenny. Thank you for all your great support at the inquiry. The village is looking particularly beautiful in the spring sunshine this evening!

  10. Lynne Deam says:

Well done Feniton!!! This was the only development that made sense, it’s just a shame that Wain Homes were allowed to tear up a field in the first place. Thank you very much Susie and FFF for all of your hard campaigning. I also think we should have a victory march to show the press that these developers can’t always have their own way..followed by a tipple!

  11. cateedmonds says:

Had a feeling it would go this way, so great news, well done to all involved, so glad the inspector saw sense

  12. cara sanders says:

Result, well done to everyone involved in the fight to keep Feniton safe from excessive development.

  13. Roger Giles Ottery St Mary EX11 1AR says:

Brilliant result. Well done Feniton. Maybe things would have turned out the way they did in any case, but perhaps a glass or two might be raised to the Daily Telegraph

  14. Jill tanner says:

That is amazing news! Thank you for your brilliant blogs Susie and big thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to get this totally justified result. Definitely think a street party is justified!

  15. ryanxknight says:

Absolutely brilliant news! Lets hope this trend continues across East Devon and that we can save our villages and countryside from unsustainable developments such as these.

  16. Helen Chapman says:

Great news, well done all, all that needs to be done now is to make sure the East Devon council local plan is nailed down so we do not come under attack from future developers. I to think we should have a village party, well done again, time for a glass of wine!

  17. Peter Bending says:

Over the moon and obviously most grateful to everyone involved. We must of course thank Graham Brown for being egotistical enough to get stung by the Telegraph. We now need to ensure that Wainhomes install the attenuation tanks!
