Feniton launches its Neighbourhood Plan consultation process

Feniton Parish Council has now formally written to East Devon District Council to commence the process of having a Neighbourhood Plan.

On the application forms, Feniton is described by the Parish Council as:

Feniton is a clearly defined rural village community with very diverse social and economic facets. The neighbourhood plan will be able to address the emerging requirements of the community as a whole, looking at the needs of all, ensuring sympathetic development takes place alongside social and economic considerations and ensuring Feniton keeps its vibrant and healthy rural village identity.

The application is now open for public consultation and anyone interested in the future of the village is able to comment. The consultation is open until 1 September 2014. Full information is available here: http://www.eastdevon.gov.uk/planning-neighbourhood_plans.

Feniton was the subject of a Super Appeal in January this year, when it fended off two of three developments which between would have meant the expansion of the village by 42%.

The Parish Council intends to listen to the views of all residents during the open consultation on the future of the village.
